I would like to add I have helped many a beginner buy a guitar and I always stear them to the used wall.
I bought my first used 76 strat in 1980. I have bought sold and traded 8 now only 2 have been new Mexicans and I regretted both. The rest were used Americans and all been out standing guitars that I had serve me well.
I just like to help inform people as all to often people attempt to validate their poor investment and spread misinformation on the internet to young players.

Why?

I have dominated this thread telling you and everyone else why, if it has not sunk in yet it probably never will.
I am just telling you what I think and what I will buy, everyone has the right to buy as many Mexican strats as they want.

Or save up until you can get the high quality you really want.

....yup. Because you'll still be dreaming of getting that higher quality upgrade or end up sinking money into a lower end guitar. But at the end of the day, you've got to do what's best for you with respect to your situation and goals. Having said that, I don't own an MIM Strat, but I've got a Deluxe Active Jazz Bass V and as much as it has served me well, it's not in the same league as the American Deluxe Jazz 5.

I neglected to read the entirety of all your posts. I apologize, and I now understand why you prefer American to Mexican guitars.
I just don't get why you like to be a jerk about it.
I'm fairly certain anyone who buys a Mexican made Fender is not expecting a "pro product for novice money." You said you don't look down on people who buy the MIM guitars, yet you heavily imply it.

I own two Mexi Fenders, and while I still have a few more upgrades to do, they're good guitars and I love them.
I understand that American Fenders are made with superior construction, hardware, and electronics. But a good guitar is a good guitar. There's no need to be a snob about where it's made.

I dont think I was being a jerk or a snob. Sometimes the truth is just brutal all on its own.

Spending more money for a "pro" product isn't going to make you a better player. So in the end what does it matter what people pay for their instruments? If they're happy with what they have and payed less for it, what do I or you or anyone else care.

For reference, I own a American Deluxe Strat, a MIM FSR strat, and a MIK Squier II STRAT and I'm happy with every single one of them. They all play and sound good and I don't have to convince myself or anyone else of that.

Donny, you've encapsulated the exact opposite in two sentences. That's very economical, you've often taken paragraphs to do the same thing.

Your opinion is not the truth, you are being a jerk and a snob with the way you present your opinion. What you prefer is what you prefer. You try to sound like you're considering others POV, but the backhander is always thrown in - that anyone who buys anything less than US, is some sort of doofus.

It will if it leads to you spending more time practicing because you like your instrument.
Buying a Fender Select made me practice more. It really did.

Just because my truth is not your truth?

The last guy just told us he bought 2 Mexican strats and he was upgrading them.
He could have bought an American Standard with that same money and not needed the upgrade.

Let me make one thing perfectly clear, if you buy 10 Mexican Strats I dont care.
Matter of fact go ahead and get the one more that would have been mine and have 11.
You see I told you at the begining of this when you ask, that it would do no good to tell you.
Now here we are right where I told you we would be.
Enjoy your Mexican strat and when it wont rock enough for you give it a green card and put some American pickups in it
Thats what I would like an American Icon of rock and roll made in Mexico.
Now please lets continue this pointless circle.
Dont forget to notice my signature at the bottom where I have 3 of the best strats money can buy made in Corona Calif USA and I got them all used for about the price of a top end Mexican.
I must be the only guy that has figured out how to do this. Shesh
See you tomorrow.

I don't think I bothered to mention guitars, only your attitude. Which is on display every time you post. Based on that, it's up to others what they think of your opinion.
