I've named my electric guitars. Here I'm playing Yume, my Cherryburst Squier Strat.

Yume means dream in Japanese.

My Squier '51 is named Taka which means hawk.

See my screen name. ;) Kuro(i) is black in Japanese and, as mentioned, Yume is dream. Kuroyume is 'black dream'. Wakarimashita ka? Hajimemashite. :)

Who said the guitar had to be named after a girl?

SRV had Number one after all

That Said, my guitar has two names, the smooth sounding one, and the english one

same name, but i like the Italian spelling better:

My blue MIM strat is named Alta Marea (High Tide)

My first electric and current playing guitar is an aged white Squier Strat that my wife got for me. I am absolutely in love with my guitar. I named her Gladys. I did so mainly because my wife refuses to accept the reasons why guys name their guitars...

It's funny because when I am playing and the miss wants attention, she'll refer to the guitar by name and call her a $@!&* for getting all the attention. Ha!

All in good fun, of course.

I have my eye on a Sienna Sunburst American Standard Strat at the local music shop, which I will be getting in coming months, hopefully. I already have a few names in mind for her, Maybelle or MapleAnne.

:D

I have named my guitar after a few months of having my fender strat and I named it after Stevie Ray Vaughan because stevie ray only played one guitar eventhough he had several others he only played one giutar on stage and thats how I'm I only like to play the guitar I have because it just feels more comfortalbe with me to play my guitar than playing some other guitar that just doesn't fit me so I named my fender strat Stevie Ray

That's very honorable dude, but she's a lady - Stevie Ray called his guitars "her, she" when he referred to them - you gotta have a woman's name! Just IMO though.

Stevie Ray didn't have all of his guitars named with woman names, he named one of his guitars that was given to him Lenny, but i get what you are saying
