I received this as a gift a 5 years ago from a friend that was sponsored by Guitar Center. I really don't play much and was thinking of selling it. When i was researching 2004 Fender Strats I notice the back of mine looks a lot different than others. Seems like the body doesn't match the neck. Anyone familiar with this? Really appreciate your time and feedback.

Thanks in advance,

It's an American Standard hardtail Strat. And it looks exactly as it should.

Quite welcome, sir.

Those hardtails have been discontinued for a number of years now, which makes them a bit of a rarity. You might capitalize on that if/when you put it on the market.

Interesting. That explains why nothing current looked like this model. Its not perfect, has some minor wear. I removed a small decal sticker which left some very minor discolouring on the body. I was thinking $800 range, too much?

Unless you have the case, paperwork and goodies, that seems a tad too much.
The G&G case alone is $150 or so.

If someone hasn't told you already, it's a 2004 American Series Hardtail Strat. These guitars replaced the older American Std, introduced in '87. I own one of the 50th Anniversary American Series Strats (to be confused with all other American Series Strats with the limited addition neck plate). The guitar is ligit, and a hardtail is rare, but not as saught after as the regular Strat.

The current American Std. replaced this guitar right around 2010 or so. I was deployed at the time, so I'm not sure the exact year.

I hope this helps.

Probably. Think $575 to $650. A skosh more if a HSC is included.
