Hi ,

i like to change the pick ups of one of my Americain stratocasters und i dont know which one i have to take , i like the sound of the Texas specials pick ups but i find the sound of the Dimarzio Area 67 , 58 , 61 pick ups is really intersting . so i would like to know your opinion about that , and i will happy to hear your advises . for more informations i like much the clean blusy sound , but i play different music styles ( it will be nice to get polyvalents pick ups ) . and thanks for the help . :)

What *don't* you like about the stock pickups and what is your budget?

Lollartrons are nice, but pricey.

The Texas Specials should give you that bluesy clean sound as well as be more than capable in a distorted setting....
I have these for my Walnut Tele.. ( Not the Tele TS's but the Strat's TS's. ) and I picked them specifically because of their range...

I don't know them... However judging from the sound Mr. Gilmour produces, they may be good, but also keep in mind that Gilmour uses a lot of effects so for all we know his pups may just be classic 60's with around 6.9+ imp..
Sometimes that is all the special pups are, just wound a bit hotter, which then doesn't quite justify spending a lot of money... For the same minus the name or marketing...

Careful on choosing according to a You-Tube vid, there's no way to tell if what you are hearing thru your monitors is an actual and accurate sound reproduction or one that is ( definitely compressed ) but not EQ'd to original parameters...
I would just prefer on spending the time and trusting my ears in a live setting of my own choosing rather than someone's promo...

I have a 2001 MIM translucent red Stratocaster Power Deluxe, it came with that push / push switch which gave you 6-7 combo's . I hated the sound of those pick-ups, pulled them and installed SCN's... But my point is that I took those pups and installed them in my Stratopartster I build... Sound was completely different, only change was standard Strat wiring with a 5 way and I ditched tyne push/push..... Sometimes just a different body and rewiring will change the pups output to a very different outcome... :)
