The stickers are strictly marketing / advertising.... If you like them leave them on but they will become dog eared and messy just from playing....

Personally, the stickers are annoying, that film and the stickers are the last things I remove after setting up my guitar(s)....
Value wise, your guitar's value is now based on a used instrument and that value coincides with market demand and supply.

Vintage guitars.... 50's, 60's are valuable depending on scarcity of model and demand for each particular model... Contrary to market, I don't consider 80's as vintage  70's era Strat's and Tele's are still very affordable...... ( But not quite there yet.... another 10-15 years.... )
These are investments ( Maybe :?:  ) but the whims of the market dictate....

As far as any guitar built in the last 15-20 years, they are only worth a small percentage of their Initial Retail Price.... Buying used in these instances means that you lessen the devaluing number as far as your initial expenditure.....
New guitars become drastically reduced a soon as you walk out the door of the music store..

An Investment is defined by an increasing value based on acquisition cost.
Guitars in general fall / fail immensely on this theme.
They are basically regarded as durable goods, even though they are not categorized as such....

Buy a guitar or many, because of their Worth / Value ...... As musical instruments, not as misperceived securities ... Play them, enjoy them and if one day you do resell, a 50% return is excellent, but most likely 30-35% is what the market will bear..... :|

I once saw a used J Bass that I considered buying, but I needed to wait until after I got paid and somebody else bought it.
The price was lower than the norm for used J Basses because it had sticker residue on it.
I would have cleaned it up without too much trouble and got a great price on the bass, but somebody else did.
