Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone knows this model Stratocaster:
Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop HLE (Homer Haynes Limited Edition) 1989

This is, I think, the second model produced by the Fender Custom Shop, guitar is beautiful, "gold" and based on a re edition of a model 57. 500 copies made.
What amazes me is that the coast of this guitar is not very high.
So my question, which had the opportunity to play with, or who has? What is the build quality etc ...? The sound?

Here is a link for you to see what I'm talking about guitar:

Thank you in advance for information.

I worked at a music store and the owner got one of the very first of the 500 made. It was a very fine guitar, had a nice V shaped neck, with nice flame on the neck. The gold color was nice and the quality of the guitar was what we have come to expect from the custom shop at it's very best. If you can find one, snap it up. I tried to get the owner to sell it to me, but he wouldn't budge and the rest of the 500 had already been spoken for.

Years later I ran across this guitar below and even though it is NOT the Homer Haynes Custom Shop model, it is as close as I have seen Fender ever come. This one is a 2004 Gold 50th Anniversary Guitar (MIM), but it has the same gold color combo and a sweet V shaped neck. Although the pickups are from the 50's Classic Series and not the custom shop variety they have good tones, have the middle reverse wound, and five way switch.

Thank you for your answers.

The first custon shop should be of high quality because they were made entirely by hand of luthier (John Page and Michael Stevens) and Haas VF4 CNC famous machine ... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Custom_Shop)
