I don't know that I'd use the word "fake". Personally I still think the neck is of Japanese origin (as is the guitar's body and bridge). However it's also possible that the neck is a skillfully-built replacement from one of the aftermarket manufacturers like Musikraft. But if you're hell-bent to definitively identify it, take some wood scrapings from the base of the neck heel and send them to a lab that can determine which region of the world that maple came from.

Otherwise, just reassemble it and play the damn thing. It looks to be a pretty nice instrument.

For "Fake" I mean a piece of Neck made from a luthier and branded Fender without permission.
However, I have reassemble it (photo), and adjusted very well. The tone is a little little "nasal", but it sounds greatly. I really like it :)

Ultimately you're right Retroverbial! :D

Thanks again

That may be more a function of your amp and/or pedalboard than any inherent deficiency with the guitar. Try some experimentation with your amp's tone controls.

Yes this is normal, I tried the guitar with tones "neutral" (my marshall valvestate) without effect (guitar direct input amp) and no reverb.
From the tenth fret on, I don't have much sustain, but nothing to worry about. Initially the Truss Rod did not respond to the action, but then I fix it. The Fret are a bit consumed and as already mentioned, I replaced the PU with CustomShop (69's, 50's, Texas).
I have a concert next Saturday, them try the guitar in the best way possible.

I also don't think it is fake just fender parts form different guitars(partsacaster) which is no big deal I have a few myself. I do like the looks of your guitar. Sounds like you just need a good setup.

Yes, a good setup always helps.
Make sure you have good wood to wood contact when putting the neck back on... that'll suck your sustain if it's not seated well.
Cool guitar 8)

If you're curious how to play the guitar, today I recorded two short tracks recorded on my PC

https://copy.com/tuRfQXRjg9ffXTXm

I think it's a nice sound, what do you think?

Thanks

It's really difficult to actually hear what your guitar sounds like with the mix of backing tracks from Hendrix..
Ditch the backing tracks and just play the guitar solo, run thru chords changes and legato runs in all pup combo's, no distortion just a clean amp setting.... Thanks...

As far as what it is, it looks like a parts caster that was modeled on a Knopfler red stratocaster..
It definitely looks great and I would own it, regardless of the origins....

I'm curious as to why you felt a need to completely dissect it ???
Did you think it was older than it is ???

Japan parts or Fender licensed supplier, I would just leave well enough alone and enjoy the guitar as is.. 8)

edit.... I just noticed the case... Is that the case that came with the guitar ???
If so can you add pics of the case, that would give us more clues and info ...

Thanks

Thanks for you reply 53magnatone

All the guitars you hear in the song are the guitar in question. I had fun playing with a base to hear different tones.

"[...]

No no, I shielded compartments of the guitar with copper foil and changed the PU. The Neck was too straight, and then to act on the truss rod I had to disassemble it (see description at the beginning of the post).

No, unfortunately, I took the guitar without case

Thank again
