I might be a bit behind on pricing, but I gave $200 for this one, new at IRC.

Hey thanks guys. I think I'm going to start all over, and get a properly routed strat body from warmoth and a nicer maple neck from fender's parts.
Make it match my tele maybe.

Not to rain on Warmoth's parade, but why buy a body from Warmoth when you can purchase the originals from Fender.....

A Stratocaster-Partster assembled from Fender neck / body / parts is a lot better than one made from aftermarket, even if that supplier is licensed, you still won't get that fender stamped on the Aftmkt....

For future resale that could be a much reduced value, not to mention that (IMHO) Warmoth is way overpriced for their offerings...

Ahemmm... What just happened here..?
This started with a crack on a Squier (DIY-fixable with a dowel - or to be honest, some Plastic Padding would do the job...), seems to end with a Fender® replacement parts Partscaster...

What's the next level, a CS Masterbuilt repair job including new body, neck and hardware?

We did suggest the most cost effective... Which was to just replace the body with an equivalent Squier replacement...
But I suspect the OP was contemplating the latter revisions from the start of this thread..
( I am assuming so.... :?: )

You'd be right. It's far too much work, and the body will never look the same. The look of the original body was the only reason I wanted to keep it.

Also, 53magnatone, the bodies available from fender are all pre-finished, and most come pre-routed for trem bridges. my new plan is to get a real fender neck, and get a Warmoth body that is routed the way I want it (tele bridge ready.)

If anyone is interested in the aging on that tele, you can check out this album of pictures.

That's my plan too, unfortunately Warmoth do not offer that routing on Strat replacement bodies. You'd need to order the body with no bridge routing and do the string and fixing holes yourself.

EDIT: turns out you can get a Tele bridge rout on a rear-routed Strat body, I'm off to play with the body builder page for an hour!
