So I'm sure there was chatter from Fender when this guitar was released that they would release new cards in due course... has that happened?

There are a number of cards now listed on the webs site (4 for the SSS and 3 for the HSS)

Having read what the cards do it strikes me my Aria Pro II, that I bought 35 or so years ago, does all of these things with switches on the guitar. The trouble with the Aria is, as well as a bewildering array of settings only a few actually sound any good. What is also strange is the good settings change from amp to amp.

It does seem that, with a couple of discrete mini toggle switches, you could pretty much achieve the same ends, or you could buy a Jaguar.

I've seen the new cards and I'm pretty excited. As to adding a bunch of switches, I wonder what happens to the signal with a whole lot stuff under the hood?

I had a Andy Summers Inspired Tele built for me several years ago. Next to my Clapton Strat and the Dlx Strat Plus, one of the most versitile guitars I own.
Jazz HB in the neck and Broadcaster pup in the Bridge
Mid-range scoop tone pot
5-way (coil tapping) switch
and 20db volume boost pre-amp.

A lot of what I'm seeing with the Dlx Strat Plus reminds me of what Fender has done with the S-1 Switch over the years. I'm excited about the new cards and wonder how far they can go.

I hope your aren't disappointed. Based on the descriptions it would seem the answer to "...how far...?" might be "Not very." :(

I know it's an old thread but Fender just released new personality cards for dip, fade, blend, stack, super stack and phase.

I had one and took it back because I did not hear any real difference when switching cards
