I went to my local guitar shop to buy a new Roland Micro cube. Me and a couple of guys are starting a blues band. We can't crank our amps in my buddies apartment so I fig I'd get the latest Micro Cube. The Micro Cube is what everyone else is using. Instead I found this. VOX AC4TV for $159.00- out the door. 4 watt tube amp with 4 watt and 1 watt setting. I can't wait to try my BOSS Deluxe Reverb pedal with this amp. This thing is just the right size and weight.

I had one of these, but with the 10" speaker and 1/4 Watt setting. Great amp, enjoyed it for a long time with zero issues.

Nice. I'm supposed to go look at a silverface champ later, but haven't told my wife yet lol.

Very cool! I just picked up a Fender Passport Mini a week ago for similar use... can be used on battery-power and can accommodate a microphone!

Nice !!

There are lots of interesting Class A low-watt amps out today.

I like my Bugera Vintage 5 (V5):

Image

5W, 1W or 0.1W., decent reverb, Headphone and Ext. Speaker Jacks. Got it on an Amazon special $129 w/ FREE S/H.

Liked the VOX too but the Bug was cheaper, and also went to 0.1W that's why I went with it.

These are handy little amps to have around.

cheers!

+1

My State Farm agent plays guitar and he asked for my recommendation for a small practice amp with a headphone jack so I referred him to the Bugera. He's pretty happy with it and his wife now enjoys her beauty sleep since his Peavey half-stack is reserved for daylight hours only.

I'm fortunate to have a good friend who's been building speaker cabs and generally messing with amps and guitars since the early 70's.

His latest project was building an enclosure around a MicroCube Amp and replacing the P.O.S. stock speaker. He demonstrated his and offered to build me one and I jumped on that bandwagon.

End result is a go anywhere 8 lb, 2 Watt SS Amp. Battery or AC power, Headphone Jack, Ext. Speaker Jack and ipod Input (3.5mm or 1/4"). Jensen Vintage 8" Speaker sounds great in a cool retro Rauland Speaker Cabinet from the 50's.

I enjoy it playing through the speaker in a small room for practice or through headphones in silent mode regardless of the time. It's quiet enough for an acoustic jam.

Cool stuff here, but why not post in the modern amp part forum instead of the guitar part of the forum? :?

That's done, now I'm expecting a complaint that it's not a FENDER Amp!
