Hi folks,
I have very big problem which I don't know how to solve it.

I bought Fender American Standard Stratocaster, 2012 year of production, with serial on the back of the headstock. Everything would be nice that I didn't spot some thing.

First part of the serial number looks OK ( US12 ) but other 6 digits are totally different font and size. Even those last 6 digits is not in the level US12, it is maybe 1mm up.

My question is, does Fender realy make it sloppy from time to time or it is fake strat. I took my strat and bring it to the guitar expert who is makling guitars (custom shop) and he looks guitar and says tha it is original Strat form 2012.

Despite that, I am still unhappy it realy stiks my eyes.

Please help me with some advice or something like that.

Alignment variances between the three-character (or four) alpha-numeric prefix code and the sequence numbers occur frequently. Likewise, there are visible differences between the fonts used. You have nothing out of the ordinary IMO.

That is normal. The Prefix "US12" is put on first, then the rest is added later, so it is common for the last six digits to be a little out of line.

Yep! That is, if you aren't still too excited about owning a killer new Strat, or worrying that you owe us a pic of your guitar that you have yet to post.

Here is a picture of that famous serial.

I am wondering how Fender can be so sloppy.

Because they're in the business of making guitars... not affixing serial # decals.

It's a minor thing.

Now if the bridge were placed .5" to the right... that would be a problem.

Spend more time playing it and less time looking at it. Then it won't bother you !

cheers!
