I mean: Fretboard radius, electronics, year, etc..?
Thanks.

The Voodoo Strat release by Fender in (1998-1999) and the Hendrix Tribute Stratocaster (1997-2000) were suppose to be recreations of Hendrix Strats.

I was at the local Guitar Center last night and noticed that the 1960's reverse headstock Stratocaster was on clearance for a pretty good price. It would be this model:

Does anyone own one of these? I'm just looking for some general feedback on this particular guitar. I seriously considered pick it up for the price...

I own one. They are not bad, the pick ups are nothing special, just regular mexi standard strat pu's and pots. I bought some 69 custom shop pu's and replaced the pots. Now the thing screams! I use the 60's reverse, and my JM sig for gigs.

Check out what strauboids has to say about this guitar at the bottom of this thread:

I've seen him talking about it somewhere else too. I think it might have been in the "Pictures of your Strat" thread, but I'm going to leave you to search those 61 pages yourself.

Ask him about it. I'm sure he'd love to chat.

I actually saw his post in the 'post your pics' thread just a minute ago. Will do! Much thanks!

This is the one we had all the chat about the placement of the logo!

The logo placement is a bit odd, now that you mention it. I didn't take much notice at first, though.

Being a commercial artist I can see Fender's need to keep the logo presented correctly. Identity is motha'. I have struggled with it many times myself.

:D

Your point of view is kind. There's a subtle naivete that is often reflected in the expectations of this group where the company is concerned that is often shaken by the light of day.

That is why is pleases me when I learn of the level of sophistication of so many out there who are quick to make changes to their original equipment with aftermarket product that often exceeds in performance what the company has touted to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Doc.

Certainly. I'm not trying to debate the issue one way or another. Just pointing out that I have been present in the "marketing vs. creative" meeting many a-time. :)

Can you point me to the thread with the noted chat about the logo placement? I feel like I have jumped into a conversation blindly. Thanks!

I think that is indeed in the "Pics of Your Strat" thread, isn't it? Somewhere in the last ten pages or so...
