You can Order a Roland CN-1 from Roland You will need to order a Boss PSA 9 Volt power supply on ebay 6 dollars . The CN1 is $55.00 dollars form Roland call them in California.
It works Great It makes the VG sound even better because you are getting a full 9 volts the CN-1 goes in the back of the guitar it has a switch with a auto if you forget and leave the power on it will cut off after 9 hours . You will need to strap the CN-1 cord to your guitar input cable form amp the cord is long so stage use is fine . I love it like having a new guitar and it sounds awesome . Good Luck This fixes this issue once and for all. I am so excited !!!

That's really not how digital electronics works.

Just a question… is the CN-1 compatible with the newly released Triple Play Strat?

I don't understand about the VG CN-1 the battery pack only puts out about six volts . But the Boss PSA puts out 9 volts does this mean all this time the VG control circuit has not had enough voltage . I know now it does sound fuller. :?:

Most digital circuitry operates at 5 Volts, the 6 or 9 Volts from the supply will simply be dropped to 5 Volts for the internal circuitry.

While analog transistor circuits will sometimes have more headroom with a higher voltage supply it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever with digital circuits.

Hey Thank You great info . I now do have a issue to report with the new CN-1 that goes in the back of the VG Strat or the Roland G5 or G5 -A . The CN-1 when you put it in the back of the Axe has a switch the switch is to turn the blue light off . When you switch it to auto it will cut the light off after 9 hours. Cn-1. I have is brand new from Roland . It work fine the first day I had it the next day the switch will not cut the light off when I switch it to off . I don't know if the auto is working I have not tried it. The CN-1 has a plug that plugs into the BOSS PSA so I just unplug it from the PAS and the light goes out . It is all made in China .I will report it to Roland .
