For $400 it's a piece of junk. If the seller's a good friend, get your money back.
For that money, you can get something decent and AUTHENTIC.

Goodonya ...Mark.

This is true.

The last Strat I bought was a near-mint 1999 MIM Classic Series '50s model in Surf Green. I paid $375 for it on Ebay (with free shipping!).

Your friend sold that to you for $400?

That's rough.

Friend (n.): A person who has not stabbed you in the back yet.

Jokes aside, this is why I never, under no condition, will buy from or sell anything to a friend. No matter how good the deal. It's asking for trouble, or souring of the friendship.

I have what appears to be a strat, but on the head it says starcaster and under it says a start guitar.
