You know, Papa Johns is celebrating their 30th anniversary by with a buy 1 large at full price, get the 2nd for $0.30. What are the chances that Fender would.................yeah right (more like a snowball's chance in hell).

So I see what appears to be a MIM Deluxe Plus top with a 2-point tremolo and iOS connectivity. Looks kinda interesting - even more so is the Triple Play Strat. Even Squier is getting in on the action.

The two new strats with Apple iOS connectivity must be either the worst planning, or the most evil consumerism ever. Never mind the silliness of choosing iOS only in 2014, when there are five Androids sold for every iOS device. But because Apple absolutely does not have long-time support. You can be pretty sure that this won't work even a few years from now. Much like your four year old car with iPhone connectivity won't talk to the newest iPhone.

If Fender had used open standards instead of proprietary lock-ins, increased connectivity would have been attractive. As it is, it detracts from the value, because you know it's something you pay for that will stop working.

Unlike a 60 year old strat, which is fully functional today.
Happy anniversary.

One thing I noticed is the revival of the old Plus prefix for the American Deluxe series: Strat Plus, Strat Plus HSS…

Certainly these new beasts will be actually different than their ancestors.

Great idea! From your lips to Fender's ears.
