They have two at my local GC and, I tried one out today. I was very impressed. I like both the original headstocks and the 70s headstock, which these two came with. The vintage trem block on these seems very cool and stable. I believe the tuners were quite accurate. They seem to be like the ones on my 2008-9 Highway One Telecaster, which I'm very proud and fond of. This thing is going for $799 plus tax. I could see me picking one up in the future if they are still around and, I can get an extra coupon or so discount on it. Have any of you boys or girls here tried these out yet? What likes dislikes or concerns do you have with these that an experienced player collector like myself would want to know about on these? As you know, the two tone paint job on these is thin, which is something that does not really concern me that much. If it is having an impact on the tone, I'm hearing it as positive. Your turn.

I purchased this guitar-used-about a month ago.

first impression on the color: love the finish, and doesn't look like your everyday guitar finish.

playability and sound- just super. I haven't played my mim strat since I got it. the tone is outstanding. I originally picked up the guitar to test out an amp, and wound up buying the guitar instead. don't think you can go wrong with this.

Good Morning,

This is in now way to turn you off of those guitars, I have owned 2 of them. Love at first site, loved the finish, loved how they sounded. Opened the wallet and took one home, and about 3 hours later, returned it for the other one that they had, took it home, plugged it in and then packaged it back up. The issue that I had with both of them, and then the 3rd one they wanted me to try was the neck. It was in bad shape on all 3 of them out of the box. It was not a matter of adjustment, it was a physical flaw, almost a bubble on all three of them on the high e/b between 12 and 15. After a month of getting warranty work done, and then trying to just get the neck replaced Fender and GC both said enough is enough and I was hooked up with my EC strat.

Since then I have seen a few more at GC and have picked them up with a little bit of longing and the necks played beautifully.

Very nice playing strat, but mine is a year old and the nitro is already wearing away and collecting dents. I think it's cool but if you like the finish as is I would get some wax for it or something.

I have had my eyes on one of these for some time now, in fact, I started a thread some time ago asking the forums opinion on this guitar. Well today I stopped by GC looking at a Vox amp when I decided to see if she was still there ... sure enough, she is! Not sure how I walked away without a purchase. I sidetracked myself by looking at a PRS SE Santana model, which is gorgeous! I am now going to try to justify to myself that I do not need to add the Nitro to the heard. Wish me luck!!
