... the days when Fender would post some sounds along with the guitars specs. It's not always that easy for customers to hit their local music store.

Please Fender... bring this element back to your specs! 8)

They were pretty helpful, but took a lot of work to do.

Committing to a purchasing decision for a big-ticket item like a guitar based solely on a sound clip heard over a set of crappyass computer speakers is a fool's errand. That's like ordering up a new Camaro because one has seen a few episodes of "Hawaii Five-O".

True.. if you're gonna sling the scratch.. best to play it beforehand. Do feel that the clips are helpful... nice to get an idea of the "flavor" before tasting it ;)

There are many clips that they put on You Tube. I agree that it's not the best way to decide, but it does give you an idea of what the sound is like.

Explain that to all the online sellers like GC and MF!!!!! Also, anyone using crappyass computer speakers wouldn't give a $%&^ about a sound clip of a Fender guitar!

I don't have to.

Take a look in the amp forums and read all the sniveling reports from simps who bought (insert name of your favorite amp here) from an online retailer without ever having played the chingalero in person, then learn only too late that product either doesn't perform to the hype and their expectations OR the sonofabitch doesn't work at all. I wonder how many personnel that GC, MF, Sweetwater, etc keep on staff merely to handle product returns. Bet you won't find that data in any quarterly stockholder report.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Buy a pig in a poke, expect a pig.

:P

As long as they are going out the door faster than the are being returned... they don't care... and neither do I.
