Thats a cool story. In todays world, you can get almost every mod imaginable right off the shelf, but back then you had to do what you had to do to make it work. I love that color , and that guitar is awesome.

Great story and what nice guitar. You really should draw out that circuit; it sounds like a really cool mod.

That mod sounds interesting. Could you explain how the different positions sound?

Most threads that start the way this one did don't end up with a real vintage strat! :)

I'm surprised that no one has asked you about the neck date or the pots date codes. Those things will tell you the story.

Well Orvilleowner I can assure you that I have been playing this Strat since I bought it in circa 62/63. I am now 67 and no-one else has ever played it. However next time I restring I will look at the pots as I know they haven't been changed.I don't want to disturb the neck as it is set just right for me. I'll keep you posted.

Very cool! Interesting modification... Being as thought he mod is from "Back in The Day"... I have a feeling it may not step on the value too much.. cause it's a "Vintage" old school mod with circa 64-65-ish parts.
That's awesome.
The color... I'm leaning towards Fiesta Red... looks like that to me.
Thanks for sharing and posting pics! Sweet Vintage Strat!
Keep Rockin'

The "date" of a vintage Strat is usually taken to be the date found on the end of the neck. In March 1962, Fender stopped handwriting and started stamping the month/year. There you go.
