Thinking about checking out this '07 "custom shop" strat. Any signs that it's a fake? Price is too good to be true at 700. Image

Why is the head stock different in the 2 pictures you've posted?
first head stock doesn't belong to the rest of the pictures.

Not sure. Those were all the pics posted in the ad. Weird. Maybe a mistake?

Play it safe and toss that tuna back in the pond.

There's something definitely wonky going on there.

Probably too good to be true. Asked if he had the COA and no response. How can you tell its a highway one?

A HWY1 uses a Greasebucket tone circuit and distortion-friendly AlNiCO III single-coils. It also sports a 22-fret neck with jumbo frets, American Standard hardware (bridge is the same vintage-style type used on MIM Standards) and a large headstock with CBS era decals.

The pictured guitar has been modded with a DiMarzio Fast Track 1 in the bridge.

If by Custom Shop he means, "I customized this strat myself in my shop out back", then yeah, I guess it is. But NOT a Fender Custom Shop..

I agree with everyone else. There is nothing Fender Custom Shop about this guitar at all. It's worth between $500 - $600.
