My planned configuration is simililar to the HH Blacktop strat. The exception is that I will be using stacked volume controls in hopes of turning off one coil or the other in positons 2 and 4. I will be using 500k pots and .022 orange drop caps. I have some .015 and .042 caps coming as well.

Any input on my plan would be helpful. I bought the pickups used and I may already have problem in that I am the JB humbucker might not be a trembucker. If it's not....how big a of deal is it?

I had an Andy Summers inspired Tele built for me with some slight personal touches.

Here's th breakdown of pups by 5-way switch starting closest to the nexk and working towards the bridge:

Pos 1. SD Jazz HB PUP (much smoother and cleaner sounding than the regular HBs. Not so mid-rangy)

Pos 2. SD Jazz HB PUP coil split (cutting out one of the coils to make it like a single coil neck pup of a Tele)

Pos 3. SD Jazz HB PUP and Broadcaster Bridge pup.

Pos 4. SD Jazz HB PUP coil split and Broadcaster Bridge pup.

Pos 5. Broadcaster Bridge pup.

The guitar has 3 knobs (one for an After Burner 20Bd volume boosts, one for regular volume and one for tone pot that has the ability to scoop out the mid-range).

This was done using a pre-coil split SD Jazz HB and a 5-way switch. I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing you are looking for, but I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what what size pots and capacitors are in it. Also, do you run one master volume and master tone.

I'll let you know about the pots and caps.

Yes. I have 1 master volume, 1 tone pot, and push/pot pot for the pre-amp (after burner).

After looking under the hood of my Tele, I can't see what caps and resisters I've got there. There's is a lot going on and it's all covered with lots of wire.

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks for looking. I am sure this will be a learning experience for me. It will be fun trying different parts finding out how things work and what works best.
