Only if the original parts are included in the sale. And I'd check that it hasn't had any extra routing either for the humbuckers to accomodate the battery for the active electronics.

And if you leave those trem springs at an angle and pull up on the bar then there's a fair chance the middle one will go slack and fly off, I've no idea why people angle the springs like that.

And I'd throw the EMG's on a fire. Just ugh.

Other than that, quite a nice guitar. If it was all original then I'd say jump at it, as it is it's just a bit too modified to be really interesting.

It is not a 50th Anniversary though.
It will have a neckplate marking the 50th year but all USA strats that came out that year had that neckplate.
The true 50th models have been discussed at length on the forums.
Hope that helps :D

I was wondering if it had had to have extra routing to take the humbuckers.. I guess the question is did Fender produce these 50th editions as a duel humbucker version? The EMG's would go as other than the SA single coil series I don't personally like the humbuckers.

2004 body had the hsh route and it did come also as an american series hh if that is what you are asking however only disassembly would reveal any wood modifications.
As I mentioned there is nothing special about it ... just an american series strat made in 2004.
It seems to me overpriced for what it is, particularly if you were going to replace the pickups :D

None of the 50th Anniversary Strats came in white. It is true that all American Series came with the neck plate.

I blame Fender for this mix up. Every time they put a neck plate, sticker or metal coin cormemorating an anniversary, everybody starts thinking that they have something special.

I'd partly agree. A Strat or Tele that has been gutted and retrofitted with EMG pickups certainly isn't a guitar that I'd want to buy, be they humbuckers or single coils.

don't knock having a set of EMG's as a back up on a scratch plate ready to go.
I have played gigs where it is the only way to keep the damn lights out of my sound so they have their uses.

Having said that it is not a first choice.
