Hi everyone,
I have an american strat with the name Stratocaste instead of Stratocaster written on the head.
What is the reason for this?
Thanks for any reply.
(Is there an easy way to upload pics?)

Two questions.

1. Is the guitar new or used?

2. Is the guitar a vintage style guitar or modern American made.

If the guitar is used and/or a vintage style instrument, then the Fender logo is a water slide decale, which is placed over the clear coat dinish and has worn away in that spot.
A good example of this would be a Clapton Strat or a Vintage RI.

If it's a new Fender, then the water slide Fender logo is under the clear coat and the mistake wasn't caught by quality control.

The last thing it could be is that is a parts-o-caster that someone built and they did a sloppy job with the water slide decal.

Photos would be helpful. You can load them on photobucket and then load the link to this thread.

Another common occurrence is for an American Deluxe to lose one of its foil letters.

Okay, maybe not common, but not unheard of at this forum.
