How's the Ovation? I was thinking of getting a guitar from them.

I think you just forgot to feed it. I has shrunk, and seems to be hiding on top of your speaker:

The Ovation is a lovely guitar. Surprisingly rich and deep sound for a shallow bowl as well.

Sounds great unplugged and plugged in.

Neck is awesome and has a nice satin finish on the back. Hardware is fantastic.

Good idea using the Powerhouse Strat body. Another option, using a conventionally routed CAR Strat body, is setting the battery in the center of the trem cavity removing the center spring.

This is actually the Clapton route as shown below:

Thanks - I had been looking at bodies and was worried about what to do with the battery (under the guard vs by the springs etc).....when this body came up on ebay UK I couldn't believe it. It was perfect for the EMG DG20 system and in perfect condition for a 16 year old!

Cost me £75 - a bargain!

:D

Later Powerhouse Strats had a different battery compartment.

Roger that. They were positioned in two different locations, but both on the back of the guitar, whereas the Clapton's is in the trem cavity as you've shown. As we have also noted in the past, they employed the Clapton route for the top of the guitar and the MDX board was modified down to 12db by swapping out one of the resistors. In my case, I had a '97 American Standard in which I installed the DG-20. However, that guitar, yet with a swimming pool route, made it impossible to cut a battery notch in the trem cavity. Because I block the trem in some of my guitars as shown above, it was not an issue to install the battery in the center of the cavity, by removing one of the springs. Even in the case of the OP's Red Strat, for the benefit of the OP, the same could be done because my Gilmour 'Black Strat''s factory setup employs only three springs.
