Well when I bought my strats my First choice was the American Special because of the texas specials. My second strat is an American standard but after playing them both for a bit I am liking the Fat 50s better. They got that bell like ring to them. Anyone else share a similar experience.

I have the Texas Spc and like them, but I dig the fat 50s.

Both are great, the FF have a bit more pop and growl.

Yeah that is what I found. I am glad I bought both of them. I do like my American Standard more than the Special but you can't go worng with either.

They're going to release a Fat 60s pickup set in 2014.

To be honest - never saw those.

Really? Well, based on some of the historical numbers I've seen, the early 60s had some of the most overwound pickups of the era.
