Here's a question: is there a possibility that sometime in the future we might be able to, for a price, send our VG Strats back to the factory for re-programming? Specifically I'd be interested in paying to have the factory replace the DAGGAD mode for open E tuning. Has this question come up before? Would Fender even consider doing that - it's just a Roland software thing - it's available on the bigger Roland unit...just asking???

That sounds like a question for Fender support.

Could anyone from Fender respond to this question? This might be a way to extend the VG product line with customers involved in tailoring their VG's to their own playing needs. I bet you'd get a pretty big response and even sell a few more VG's if the tuning modes were opened up to whatever Roland has out there.

It would be nice if they would add a 13 pin jack for Roland Synth access as well.

Sure, as long as we're sending them back for modification - why not. The only limitation on the full blown 13 pin connector might be whatever the agreement w/Roland is about what the VG model is supposed to be vs. the other Roland products available.

I think that the VG synth emulations are hard coded for optimal conversion to output. If it were programmable, it is definitely not via the 1/4" jack. :D
