Hi,

I am looking to upgrade the humbucker in my HSS american standard and want to add coil splitting in position 2 of the switch.

I would also like to keep the bridge pickup connected to the tone control.

I am going to base my circuit on the Seymour Duncan one.

If I add a link wire from the middle pickup terminal on the left hand side of the switch to the terminal for the bridge pickup on the same side I think I should be able to get the tone to work for the bridge.

I also think that it might cross feed the middle pickup into the bridge pickup in position 1.

Anyone done this and can let me know if its possible to auto split and have the bridge connected to the tone.

I have include a link to schematic I am planning to use.

Thanks

Ian

Check out the wiring diagram for the MIM Standard Fat Strat. It allows for the auto-coil split in position 2 with a connection to the tone control.

Thanks for that, it looks the same as the Seymour Duncan one without a link from the bridge pickup to the tone pot.

I will wire it up to that diagram and see what happens, the split is more important to me than the bridge tone pot anyway
