I was at my local music and they had a deal I could not refuse. Buy 1 US fender and get the second US guitar for 1/2 price. So I paid 899 for the American Special HSS and 550 for the American Standard. They still came with their respected cases.

Nice guitars. That is an excellent deal - I would have thought that they would make you buy the more expensive one (the American Standard) at full price and take the half price on the less expensive American Special.

By any chance was your music store only applying this to Fenders? One of my local stores is having a hard time selling Fenders and they need to get rid of overstock so they are offering a deal where you only pay what the store paid plus shipping.

yeah the buy one get one 1/2 price was on American fenders only and yes from what I understand is that they needed to move a certain amount of US fenders to keep their fender agreement. It is the end of the year and the push is on.

I Don't know why they let me buy the cheaper one at full and get the more expensive one as my 1/2 off. My guess is that they were doing me a favour. I bought 7 guitars there so far a piano and other stuff as well. I wasn't gonna argue lol.

That's always the nice when you've done a lot of business with a store and they do you a solid deal like that - definitely a good way of saying "thanks for your business; we value you as a customer and want you to keep coming back".

If only more businesses did this. I have bought three guitars from one music store and they don't even remember me a week later.

Yeah I hear ya. I experienced that in the bigger cities then I moved to a smaller town and I don't get that as much. I return favours though. I will probably drop them in a giftcard or something. I know someone at work who bought two guitars there yesterday as well and he bought an American Tele and a special strat. He had to pay 1089 for the tele and he got the strat for 450. He was not a regular customer there. So they definately cut me some real slack.

Nice selection. That's a fine looking 'burst finish.
