How badly are your frets worn?

Do you have all the tools needed to do a fret job?

Have you had a level and crown on this guitar You can get two or three levels and crowns before you have to do a refret.

Even after you refret you'll still need a level and crown to make sure your old frets don't buzz on the new ones

Exactly.
Are you positive you need to refret? You may just need to dress a few frets or level and crown what's already there.

Too late......he's already pried the old frets off!

Indeed Arjay, and I fear this story will not have a happy ending.

At this point I'd highly recommend you take you guitar to a good luthier and have him install and dress all your frets. Good Luck.

The only upside to this so far is that the thread subject didn't read:

"Help please! im refretting my 60s strat!"

Ha! My 60s Strat was refretted, but it wasn't a DIY job.
