What are the downsides of have single coil pickups that get rid of the humming sound that typical single coil pickups produce?

I was thinking about getting Seymour Duncan STK-S10B YJM Fury pickups.

These stacked humbuckers are the fruit of Yngwie's collaboration with pickup supremo Seymour Duncan.

The downside is that you'll miss out on all the hum and noise :D . These stacked humbuckers all have the same basic goal in mind; give you something that sounds like a regular single-coil but with out the hum. Some are closer to the mark than others, bu you'll have to let your own ears guide you. There are also some single-coil sized humbuckers (these are basically humbuckers with a reduced physical footprint so you wont have to route your guitar's body or change the pickguard) that have a lower output and sound more like single-coils than a humbucker.

I'm sure that the STK-S10B is fine pickup, but you'll make the investment and see if it's what your looking for. Yes, they'll do the job of bucking the hum but tone is a highly subjective issue.

There are no "downsides" per se.
You will not lose the "Stratty-ness" of the guitar.
I have noiseless singles in all of my Strats and they all 'quack' nicely in position 2.
Heck...I've gotten a few compliments on my TONE when playing out live from musician and non-musician alike>
Unless you're playing to an audience of persnickety guitar players who'll tear you apart regardless.......don't worry....get them! And don't look back!!
