Picked up a MIM Strat, surf green. It has the fat head and says Deluxe series where they usually say Original Contour Body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, and does not have the bullet truss rod. Serial starts with a MZ115****. I've found it to be a 2001 model, but can't find any others with the "Deluxe Series" on the head. Anybody know what I have? Someone told me it was a '54 reissue, but I don't think that can be the case with the fat head. Any info is greatly appreciated. Not sure how to post pics

Hi bigkane01,

The Reissues are American, there is no such thing as a Mexican Reissue. You should post a picture for a more accurate assessment of your guitar. For picture posting, use a publicly accessible website such as PhotoBucket to up load the pics, then paste the site link to the pic in your post.

Maybe you have a Deluxe Lonestar or Deluxe Roadhouse?

You must create a free account on Photobucket, Flickr or ImageShack and upload your photos within.

With a Photobucket account you'll get rid of all the hassles from inserting the URLs between the tags. Just copy and paste the IMG code and you're done.

I presumed we were talking Strats on the Strat part of the forum, and you asked about a Strat, so I meant Strats. Besides, the "Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline" is still not a reissue. I still stand by what I said, there is no such thing as a Mexican Reissue.

Did you buy your Strat new? If not, are you sure it is not re-necked?

Possible Tom DeLonge artist model fitted with a standard S/S/S pickguard......?

IIRC some of those guitars had a body routed as per a standard S/S/H MIM Standard Strat. And the TD sig guitar is the only hardtail I know of that was available in Surf Green.

Looks nice!

Arjay
