I can sound bad on either - so I just try and concentrate

There was an article once that said the nitro finish allows the wood to breathe.. People must believe anything.

Consider two things here- wood doesn't breathe when it's had the moisture content removed by a lengthy kiln drying process. It's dead. And dead things don't breathe.. So I've been told

Especially when sealer has been applied before the finish. So I just don't understand how that idea was put..

Personally, acoustic differences of any solid body electric guitar finished in nitro vs. Poly of any kind.. I don't believe in- I believe they are all made from lumbar and certainly not worthy of discussion. Acoustic guitars, violins, cellos... then I'll start talking

Like Ceri said, by all accounts both urethane and polyester finishes are superior in every way over nitro.

Bingo. The only people that worry about such as nitrocellulose, are the people that are told by the manufacturers that nitro allows wood to breathe. People that believe it and willing to pay for a guitar just to have nitro.. I don't get it. But that's marketing for ya. The rest just focus more on playing their guitar.. Nothing else.

Yeah, and those paints were used on cars too. Chevrolet wanted their steel bodies to breathe.

And I believe nitrocellulose is a plastic.
