So I was checking out my an interview with Keith Urban, and I noticed that he was shone holding a black '50s style Strat with a reverse maple Telecaster neck.

Does anyone know anything about this?

And how about the guitar he's playing here? No neck pickup!

According to Guitar Player Mag, it is a reverse Clapton. His tech Chris Miller says it was a regular Clapton Signature Strat. The Custom Shop made him three reverse headstock necks for his three Clapton strats. On this guitar, the neck and middle pickups are Fat 50s and the bridge is a DiMarzio Area 67. The mid boost circuit is still operational.

This was in a section titled Urban's Outfits, November 2013 issue. Hope this is useful.

Fat 50s are not hum-cancellers, the Area 67 is.

I'm not certain if a dummy coil was added for noise reduction. :|

That's what I read and believe as well.
