Hi, I am a new strat owner...well I have been for over a month now...
I was wondering What do you guys think is the best most comfortable neck radius ???
I bought a fender stratocaster reverse headstock from musicians friend recently because it was on sale... and man let me tell you the neck is amazing I dont know what it is but my hands feel really nice when playing on it ...I own an ESP, two floyd rose, and a yamaha guitar and I never thought how much of a difference the radius of a neck can make ....
anyway what do you guys think?

Welcome to the Forum!

I prefer the 7.25 and 9.5 on my Strats.

I've played so many necks. I do not like the Les Paul baseball bat feel, or think necks in general. The modern "C" 9.5 radius on my 98 strat is like butter, I can play it all day long (and do).

I've played some PRS guitars with the wide-think neck (not sure of the radius) that also feel great. I don't think anything could ever beat how perfect my strat is to the way I play.

As of now 9.5" because that's what's on my number one strat. However I'm working on a project strat and I've ordered a Warmoth neck with a compound radius neck from 10" to 16". I'm really looking forward to it. Never heard any negatives about the compound radius. We shall see...

I'm a huge fan of 12" radius and V-shaped necks. My next fender will be the Classic 60's, EJ, or the Jim Root tele - all have 12" radius.

I wish fender made more strats with a 12" radius.
