I've been thinking about buying a new model Fender. I've decided on a nitrocellulose finished Strat or Tele. I figure that these will be a worthwhile model to have in a collection. I do not think that they will be produced very long.

They seal the body in poly before slapping an outer nitro finish on it just to let you know, look at any Highway One model with paint wear and you will see it.

Thank you for the tip on the paint method. That changes my choice of a new Strat to the inexpensive American Strat. (I don't know the exact name.) It has 22 medium jumbo frets. Texas Special pickups. And comes in a couple of cool colors. I like the idea of the 2 tone Sunburst for a 50's look Surf Green.

If you order a Thinskin AVRI strat from Wildwood Guitars or Daves Guitar shop it wont have any poly undercoat on it . They are nitro thru and thru.
