I had originally bought it from a Pawn shop in Vancouver for <$400 as a donor instrument for a project. I play bass and lead guitar for a band called 22nd Century and recently acquired a double neck custom body built by Rick Cremer (Cremer Guitar works - http://www.cremerguitarworks.com/). The body was apparently built in 1986 as noted by his signature. I definitely want this to be a 100% pure Fender (other than the body) with a Pre-bass and double coil strat works. The plan is that our guitar player will use bass pedals while I play lead, then I'll switch to bass for the verses, choruses etc. This is an example of the sort of songs we play:

I play bass, lead on Nightmare.

here are the pictures of the body:

Thanks again!

Nice doubleneck body. Warmoth puts the bass on top:

But either way would work.

How are you planning to wire it up? Separate guitar/bass outputs or ???

This guitar is throwing me for a loop. The body looks like a strat but I have never seen a Fender headstock that looked like this. The guitar is supposedly 30 years old based on the serial number on the headstock but I have to wonder if someone transferred a Fender decal to a different neck/headstock and then put it on this guitar? There is a serial number below the Fender logo of S732327. Thanks for any help!

A quick search of Ebay shows there is a similar Fender on sale right now only this one doesnt have the logo as big, it's smaller.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-1991-Heartfi ... .m20.l1116

Also, on Yahoo search engines i was able to find pictures of other Fender Talons.

Check this one.. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/v ... 334e199b50

Is it legit Fender? Beats me but if the talons are it only proves that Fender did indeed make those sorts of headstock.

The Talons were legit, part of Fender's Heartfield line.

That's amazing, they really don't look like a Fender. if i saw from a distance i would swear it was a charvel.

The SN does fit a 1994-1995 Japanese model

in looking at the Talons, it seems every single model is some form of HSS or HSH. It doesn't look like any of them some in the SSS version. And every Talon has at least one horn that was sharp. Which does not match the pic.

I'd swear I have seen that same guitar on this forum before with the poster asking pretty much the same question. I could be wrong though.

Damn, never mind. I just saw the date when this was posted. No wonder I thought I had seen this before. I need a vacation. :D

I think that was the point, for Fender to try and break into the metal shredder market.

I see somebody else has this same serial # for their Strat so wondering what's up with my guitar as well. The story behind the guitar.

In about 1976/77 I bought a practice electric guitar -- a Memphis Bullet and a Crate amp in Wisconsin.

In 1982/83 I was in the Air Force stationed at Presidio of Monterey, CA (language school). I had that Bullet and Crate with me. A buddy of mine always admired that guitar. I went on to Greece. He went on to Korea. Fast forward to about 1985-87 I was stationed at NSA, Ft Meade, MD. I get a phone call and it's my buddy. He wanted me to go to his house in Base Housing and bring the Memphis Bullet and Crate amp. So I did. He had a Strat that he says he got in Korea. He liked my Bullet because it was smaller. The Strat was too heavy for him. So we traded. He also had this cheapie little amp that actually had an attachment on the back for a 9V battery! lol

I still have the guitar (and the amp too although I now have a Fender amp that I use with the Strat).

The guitar is just basic brown with a white pickguard. On the neck it says the following:

"Fender" and below that it says SERIAL NUMBER S732327" and then to the right of that it says "STRATOCASTER" with the "STRATO" in a straight line and the '"CASTER" curves around with the curve of the neck and underneath the "CASTER" it says "MADE IN KOREA".

On more than one occasion that I have had the guitar repaired the repair guys have made jokes kind of like, "You can just leave that guitar here if you want." or "What guitar? Oh, that one!" and we all have a good laugh about it. The impression I am getting is that they believe the guitar is worth something.

My mother is telling me that I should have the guitar added to my homeowners insurance. I would have to find out whether the guitar is really worth that much before I would consider doing that. After reading some of the posts here and seeing the same serial number I am wondering if the guitar is actually a counterfeit of some kind. But I only traded a Bullet for it so I don't feel like I got burned and I enjoy playing it so I guess that's all that counts really.
