Do you think it would be pointless to get a boss ds-1 pedal with a Mustang 1(V.2) amp since the fender fuse software already has distortion pedals in it? If you disagree do you think the boss ds-1 pedal would sound good with Mustang 1(V.2)? I play the Fender Standard Stratocaster.

I don't think the DS-1 sounds good with any amp. Regardless isn't the "orangebox" on the Mustang the DS-1?

No, don't feel your inquiry is pointless. Nics to have additional options available outside of what's already loaded in the amp already.
Best thing to do would be to try it and see if you like the sound. I like the Boss DS-1 pedal going through a tube amp. But on the other hand, feel it sounds terrible through a solid state amp. Only way to know if it's something that will work for you is to try it out and go from there.

What pedals would you recommend for the Fender Mustang 1(V.2) amp?

My experience leans towards OD pedals with the Mustang (Use a Mustang III). Have an MXR Classic Overdrive in front and it sounds great. Funny, it's one of the least expensive OD's you can get (they may have discontinued these... not sure if you can still get one brand new). IMO it's one of the better one's you can get. Sounds awesome and well made. Have used lots of different OD pedals over the years. This one is a winner.

Experiment a bit. Go out to GC or Sam Ash, plug into a Mustang and run some pedals thru the front (both OD and Dist). See what sounds good to you. Lots of very cool pedals out there.
