I ordered a 300K pot from eBay recently hearing it gives a better volume swell and decrease. Has anyone done this mod before and what were the results?

Simply asking a question, I never stated it worked, so I fail to see how your insightful wikipedia article which can be written by anyone and in of itself may have some bias is in any way relevant to the said question.

Standard 250 k pots remove some brigtness on Fender single coil . 300k could remove less, will you ear it ?
For a better volume swell ? This EJ 300 k pot do a job with EJ pickups , wich one are they ?

I have some new 250K pot at home as I fix guitar. Some Fender and some DiMarzio.

Few of them read 240k , 260K ,225K. Will they sound different from a 250 K ?

Can you take a reading of your 300k and your original 250K ? You could have a 280K and you could receive a 280K too

wferguson, you should chill. The native language of stratele52 is French, and he is offering some sound advice, while you are being a jerk.

It's from pulp fiction  and I have seen some of his other posts and they seem to be in perfect English...

What I wrote is so poorly written ?

It is discouraging to read these comments when you try to help in a language that is not mine. Fortunately, this is rarely the case in the forum.

With the help Google translate.

You do just fine, Stratele. Translation of technical ideas and specs is always going to be more tricky than general conversation would be! :)

If they are actually 250K and 300K, the 300K will load a pickup slightly less, so theoretically it would be slightly brighter and slightly higher output, but whether you can actually tell something like that by ear is fodder for many threads. Additionally, the particular impedance and frequency response curve of any pickup will contribute as well.

One pickup may not be noticeably affected while another could sound quite different.

Most production parts have a +/- 10% tolerance (cheap parts are often 20%). Any individual 250K pot could measure 275K and a 300K measure 270K, making any difference negligible.

Of course the actual values could be 225K and a 330K, which is a far larger difference and more likely to give you a perceptible change.
