Hello, I'm a 13 year old, and I have recently started playing guitar (about 6-7 months.)

I have recently undergone a big jump in maturity, my sense of humor, way of thinking and specifically taste of music has changed drastically.

I'm telling you this because I have recently discovered, (more like) realized how much the music I used to listen to sucked!
I'm (now) really interested in (listening to, and playing) "Bluesy Rock"
Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Rolling Stones (although most of their stuff is more of an "early rock" sound in my opinion, i'm looking for more like E.C. and Jimi) there are some other band's /artists that I listen too but, I have a small Knowledge of this Genre.

I'm sort of stuck, I pretty much listen to the same two albums; "Experience Hendrix", and "Cream live from Albert Hall" (in my opinion that performance (2005 reunion) was better on all songs than the studio editions) It's starting to get depressing and i'm losing interest in guitar and music in general (which are like my only hobby's)
I need some inspiration for guitar (and just some good music to listen too.) I would REALLY appreciate it if you guys could give me a few suggestions for bands/artists within this Genre.

Thanks,
sorry it was so long :|

Young squire....there are so many artists/albums that you can listen to in this genre.
My personal favorite....look up a guy named ROBIN TROWER....particularly the BRIDGE OF SIGHS cd. The Stratocaster tones coming off that CD will amaze you!
I'll throw some other names at you....google them...You Tube them....just get a hold of 'em!!

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush
Mike Bloomfield
Rory Gallagher
Humble Pie (Live at The Fillmore)
Mountain
West, Bruce and Laing
Jeff Healey
Albert Cummings
Cry Of Love

That'll get you started. When you look these groups up on You Tube look over at the suggestion column on the right....they'll give you some related artists also...

Good luck and don't get bored/frustrated......the guitar is so rewarding!!

Any (or all) of the first four James Gang albums featuring Joseph Walsh will yield a motherlode of classic blues/rock fodder......

Yer Album
Rides Again
Thirds
Live

As well, Mountain and Montrose are great examples of the genre.

The previously mentioned titles are also worthy of a listen.

Welcome :!:

A little early in the game for boredom to set in, don't you think?
A good number of us 'old guys' started out around your age or younger. Some of us can still remember it. Other's, like yours truly, are obliged to rely on photographs.

Your challenges and goals should be found in the mastery of your instrument, the refinement of your technique, and your education in music theory. Thereafter, applying those to the kinds of music which interest you.

Perhaps it is time for you to begin studying with a good teacher who will know how to incorporate your musical tastes into your learning to keep it interesting.

You need to develop your driving skills properly and well before you begin working your way up to a Ferrari.

Also keep this in mind. Nothing 'sucks'. It just isn't your thing.
Gets across better to us old fogies.
