Some MIM's will often smell like limes, lemons, or even pickles. From what I understand it has to do with the type of Rosewood they often use.

I read this thread, then I went and smelled all my guitars. I turned around and there was my wife, standing in the doorway, watching me.

Now, how am I to explain this one? "I was chatting with a bunch of guys on the internet about what guitars smell like." "Yes, honey..."

I have a 1988 Gibson SG that I bought off Craigslist. It smells like cigarettes and so does the case.
It's funny, the room where I keep my guitars and amps has a smell also. It's not a bad one though. It smells like the leather from my Mesa/Boogie and the guitars mixed together. I actually like it.
