Hi, my girlfriend gave me a mim fender neck, well she ordered from Andertons Store I'm still waiting. I was looking wich guitar I would like to replicate, and the AVRI is my favorite. Well this neck isn't the best start but that's what's coming. On the website says the nut width is 42 mm, the AVRI is also. Can I just go after a body and fit in a AVRI bridge, would all the dimensions match? String spacing on the nut would go well with the bridge? Or am I stuck to MIM strats dimensions from now on?

Thank you in advance, Diogo.

To accurately replicate a vintage Strat, the neck should have certain specific features and details. At the headstock, the tuner holes should be 3/8" in diameter to fit Kluson or Kluson-style vintage-spec tuners. A single butterfly string tree is used. The fingerboard should have 21 frets and for a '50s or early '60s instrument the 12th fret position markers should have the "wide" spacing. Mid '60s and later guitars had the dots placed closer together. For a '50s or '60s Strat, the trussrod is adjusted at the neck's heel -- for 70's guitars (with the 3-screw neck) the trussrod adjustment is made at the headstock. Traditional Fender fretboards from this era were radiused to 7.25" with small fretwire but many players (especially the younger fans) prefer a flatter radius and larger frets. Stratocasters built after December of 1966 had the enlarged "CBS" headstock and mid-year the tuners were changed from Kluson to the "F type" developed by Fender.

Im aware that the neck is not a good start. I already have this neck and I can have hold of a exact 62 strat body. If I fit my neck and an american vintage 6 pivot bridge, will that work or the neck wouldnt be wide enough to go with the AV string spacing at the bridge. I know that American Vintage strat necks have 42 mm at the nut, this neck also. But thats all I know.
