the previous owner told me that the body was of a stratocaster american special 1995

but I don't know if it's true or not..

so I disassembled the guitar

I took some pics..
someone could tell me if it is really the body of a american special 1995 or if it's something else? like mexican or squier i really don't know where check the serial of the body

Interesting to see a piece of 180 (?) grit sandpaper in the neck cavity.

I am just not sure, so I'll let others chime in.

cheers!

I bought a 1996 Mexican Fat Strat special for one of my kids that had sandpaper like that.
It had a universal route and the middle pickup was in a weird place.
It had a humbucker and a coil tap switch in the number 2 tone spot.
It had American vintage tuners and bridge.
This made me think of that.

Reminds me of the highway 1 body
Is it just a parts guitar?
I think it is a USA but I didn't think they made the American Special back then.
The Highway 1 started in 99 I think
Lets see the headstock and serial

If the serial is still under the foil that will tell you a lot.
My foil pulled mine out when I removed it.

Yes Fender can read it if its still there.
Im pretty sure it is an American Special/Highway 1 series body.
I have had a couple.
Don't know what they called them before Highway 1 maybe a Strat Special.
