need help wiring up a texas special pickguard to my project strat. the volume pot has 3 ground wires from the pups soldered properly. I know the white wire connects to 1 side of the input jack.

I did notice that 3 black wires were cut off the back of the volume pot. (I got it used btw).
I know one goes to the trem claw, and one to the other connector on the jack. where does the other black one attach?

thanks gang

Quite possibly if the pickup and control cavity has shielded paint it will attach to a lug which then is screwed into the ontrol cavity area.
There should already be a vacant screw hole in this area. :D

Third ground wire was body ground. Dont you hate people that want to appear intelligent and say look it up?

it's better to look it up and be sure than to wire it wrong, so yes when dealing with any circuit no matter how simple or complex the intelligent thing to do is look up a wiring diagram to ensure that you do not make mistakes

Or a real helpful guy might provide the actual answer if he actually knew it I guess.

Like so

The third ground wire is the body ground figure 19.

It isn't hard to find a wiring diagram and telling somebody to do a gogle search for a wiring diagram is a perfectly sufficient answer, it is best to look things up yourself instead of relying solely on what somebody on a forum says, If you are too lazy to look up a wiring diagram you don't deserve,. I provided the correct answer, but i am not here to hold anybody's hand and do their research for them, you on the other hand want to appear to be some kind of pseudo intellectual and criticize somebody for giving the correct answer, the problem with people is that they are too lazy to look it up themselves,
