Are you actually playing these guitars guy?
Have you ever played a Epiphone and a Real Gibson Les Paul side by side?
I have and there is no comparison
You don't buy guitars for the name on the peghead.
You buy guitars that are the quality that last and preform a lifetime ok?
Your not going to get that from Mexico or China.
Your going to get a guitar that will do for a while.
Its not about made in USA is the only way.
Its about who makes the best and the original.
Who is going to give you the highest quality and best backing.
There is a reason everyone wants a real Stratocaster and a real Les Paul.
There is a reason that a Marshall and a Shure mic are the industry standard.
Its not because they match artists designer jeans and tennis shoes.

You want advice from someone that really plays and even other guitar players come to watch?
Get the real thing EVERY time it will even make you sound better.
But me... I don't care what you play on, because I got the best money can buy.
Now I didn't say I spent the most money, I saved a dollar everywhere I could.
But one thing is for sure when they bury me with my guitars...
Somebody going to be digging me up.

;)

im not in any way doubting the quality of the real one mate! honestly. im just saying in my personal opinion now after looking around a bit, there's so many guitars i can get that are almost the same (to my ears) as a real les paul i think i'll get a fender instead!

why am i not going to get a guitar like that from mexico or china? in mexico they use the same build process and the same material's as in the USA factory. so why would you think it isn't as durable as a USA one? just because it's made in the USA it's better is it? even though it's built the same, finished the same and uses the same materials.

and if it doesn't matter about the name on the head. why were you kind of being snide when i said i liked the squier tele? it's a more affordable fender guitar but it's the very best quality one squier make

do you have more than 1 strat dude? i'd actually be interested if you made a little video of your strats, playing the same tune, in the same pickup position through the same amp etc. just to see the tonal differences and the quality you speak of compared to my mexi strat!
also would you like me to link you a couple of reviews of the squier im talking about? it really is worth a look in my option, would be no hard for you to own one as they're so cheap and i honestly think they're beautiful sounding guitars. and the pine body is great in your hands when you're standing up as it's so light

here's a comparison video between a 50's classic vibe Squier and a real fender nocaster 50's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc2vzy58Vcw
now they're miles apart in build quality, and the fact that the body is made from PineWood should mean there's a big difference in tone if im to believe that the quality of the wood in the body makes a difference. but in this video im hearing 2 identical guitars

lovely guitars there dude, especially the humbucking strat (i was never a fan of that oversized 70's headstock). im kind of betting that if you put both strats on their neck pickup the'll sound identical, even though they're clearly different woods and builds. i love the colour of your les paul also! it's gorgeous, how much did that one set you back?

They don't sound identical the Floyd Rose American Deluxe sounds very different.
The American Standard Highway 1 is a highly customized one and my favorite right now.
I made my own pickups sort of.
I took the Hot Alnico 3s from a Highway 1 and switched the magnet rods to Standard Alnico 5s.
Then I run them 70s flat head or even with the pickup cover no staggard or stickin out.
They are twice as hot as a standard pickup.
The body is a Am. Standard and the bridge is a ultra
Long story but it was an 89 American standard the body split and I got a new body.
Then I wanted a 70s peghead. My friend wanted the 89 neck.
I paid 1899 USD for both Les Pauls best ones I ever owned

That's the Signature T Les Paul I just told you about in Trans Ebony.
It sells for $1899 USD not the robot tuning model just has locking tuners.

nice, all 3 are lovely. normally i like the "standard" models, but as im getting older im starting to appreciate things a bit more. like i really like the highway 1 strat now, the humbucker on the bridge is quite appealing, but again the head puts me off.
a friend of mine bought a set of Fat 50's fender pickups and they just sound amazing, have you ever played a guitar with the fat 50's?

No mostly the installs I have done are Texas Special that is the popular I wanna be SRV pickups.
I have wanted to hear the Fat 50 but I have a mucher hotter pickup in my stuff.
I have done a ton of installs on humbuckers Dimarzio Duncan EMG etc.

Man that statement is so off the mark as to border on Foolish !

Some of the greatest Artists played, and some of the greatest Music was laid down with an ES335 or a Telecaster. You could also throw the SG, Melody Maker or even the Ricky in the mix.

To totally omit them shows you're either incredibly biased, or ignorant.., or both !

cheers!

A more mature approach might be "Well... I may have overstated..." or words to that effect.

But instead, you throw your resume at me.

Who are you trying to convince ?

I'm not the one firing off ridiculous statements

cheers!
