This Aztec Gold Strat has strong Clapton influences, except EC's own guitar sported Lace Sensor pickups and Elite circuitry.

One change I made due to personal taste, was to go for a 3 ply pickguard as the custom above had a single ply. the single cheapened it a tad IMO, but still an amazing guit nonetheless,

That a looks a lot like a Strat that the Custom Shop recently made for Lincoln Brewster.

Here's a shot of him with his aztec gold axe:

I'm not certain about Fender's plans to release a signature model in aztec gold and 3-tone sunburst. :?

I just recently switched over my Aztec gold shown at top of post, and made it an HH config. My 3 tone sunburst still has Dimarzio injector SSS, BUT I needed a HH config for church, and the gold feels so good in my hands, so it became my frankenstrat.

Are those humbuckers DiMarzios or Duncans?

From what I can see you've rewired the circuit for a single master volume and tone. Not sure if you kept the super 5-way selector to split the 'buckers or installed a 3-way switch to obtain that full humbucker sound in series.

Duncan 59's and 3 way switch. Didnt want a split coil situation. My 3 tone sunburst has my Injectors and Area 67 pups in it now. Best of all worlds. I can honestly say that I have a very Bonamassa-esque tone now out of the goldtop. Took some tweaking and a strong chorus effect to find it, but I just got back an hour of soloing, and I am very pleased with the tones. To be honest though, I like the LOOK of the singles coils being in my Goldtop better than the buckers, but tone wise, this thing wails now. 8)

In your place I would put three SH1-59Ns and Schecter wiring for coil tap & split on that goldtop.
