Yes it is a legit US Stratocaster. It looks to be an 2006 American Special Stratocaster model.

If you send an e-mail to consumerrelations@fender.com, they may take a day or two get back to you, but they can give you all the stats or of course google the models specs.

Hi Perw and welcome to the forum.

We we have quite a few experts here who I'm sure will be able to provide you with a definite answer. So while you wait for one of them to come along, here is my non-expert opinion. The serial number is consistent with an 2006 American made Stratocaster. My guess would be a Highway One but I'm not sure about the bridge and the finish look a little too shiny. It could be just the picture.

    Cheers!

Hey Bluer Monkey, I just noticed what I said...there were no American Specials Made back in 2006...duh. But it is not a highway one either, as they had small headstocks back then. Now I am wondering what it is. I will have to go back to the books and do some more research!

Edit: After looking through no less than five books and the 2006 Frontline, I can find NO guitar that has the 22 Fret large headstock, from '06, and has a what looks like a poly finished (Shinny) body. It may be a parts guitar, but not sure about the neck, unless it has had a different front logo.

Also, the neckplate would have Fender Corona, CA engraved onto it. I'm almost sure it would also have the micro-tilt adjustment.

At first I also thought it was a Highway 1 since they did revise the SSS models to the large headstock in mid-2006, but I agree with T2Stratman that the body is too glossy to even be a Highway 1 body "polished up".

Highway 1s had plain neck plates and no micro-tilt, as do the current American Specials.

Ditto on the finish. Then again the Highway One in this YTV looks shinier than the ones I've seen in person. I suppose it could be just the way the finish shows on the video?

At around 6:15 the specs of the 2006 Highway One are presented.

Cheers!

Thanks guys for your reply, paint is shiny so I think that certainly is not the Highway One. Today I spoke with the owner, and when I asked him "what is the model of Fender?" indignant and was unpleasant, So I decided that giving up on buying :|

If when asked that question he got that way, tells me it is some sort of Partscastor for sure and he didn't like being called out for trying to pass something on that it wasn't.

Good call on passing this one by.
