Those are some fine lookin' Strats that have already been posted.

May I ask as to what your switches do, looks interesting

Well, the switch between the tone knob splits the humbucker (a Dimarzio Super Distortion... which happens to split very well and matches the Fender Tex Mex single coils nicely).

The switch on the input jack is part of the Alembic Blaster (formerly known as the Stratoblaster I think). It's basically a variable gain preamp capable of a HUGE boost in volume however mine is set to a much more modest level. I stashed the battery in the trem cavity and blocked the trem entirely so there are no springs back there. It's WAY easier to access the battery from there than having to take the pickguard off... it's already pretty cramped under there.

It's quite a versatile guitar though it does depart form the classic vintage look of a stock strat I suppose... it doesn't happen to bother me in the least. I have toggle switches on 3 of my 5 strats and one of my custom Duo-Sonic projects...

This one (a close second in terms of my favorite) has a neck-on toggle and a toggle to split the humbucker... both guitars feature the same pickup arrangement.

Heck, here's the other one with the toggle and another favorite... can you tell they're all kinda my favorites? This one has a neck-on toggle between the tone knobs.

For a moment there I thought this thread was going to reveal that "The Stratosphere" (eBay) is one of our members and this was going to be about the ultimate Partsocaster.

I really like the stratosphere and fendermender and those venders on eBay.
I cant tell you how many guitars I have repaired and parts I have gotten from them.
I would say half my customers have stratosphere parts in there Strats and Les Pauls.

I might have guessed you'd like the black one the best Donny, you have a thing for black Strats yourself. As far as the eBay store Stratosphere, I have purchase items many times from them... if you catch them on sale they're a pretty good deal IMO. The descriptions are always accurate and items are very well packed. I wonder how many guitars they part-out a year?

+1

Out of hundreds of purchases, I've received only one bad part from The Stratosphere and Matthew squared it with me immediately. They always have a consistent supply of genuine Fender parts which is important to minimize the turnaround time for a client's guitar.

Very Gilmourish mod, mate!

Your guitar looks very much to Dave's black Strat in its original form... Dave installed the neck on toggle switch many years later.

You recall that 'Strato-sphere'/Reliable Fender has been the subject of some of our more heated debates on the Forums...not so much to the issue of being a guitar chop shop, but the issue of the sale of neck plates and necks with serial numbers, and perhaps even COA's all of which can encourage 'misrepresentation', if I may be so polite.
