hi folks from ireland,i bought an american strat with EMG pickups fitted by the previous owner and i must say im dissapointed with them.compared to standard single coils they sound very weak. could they have been wired wrong. cheers,derek,

what type of EMG's are build in? Passiv or active ones?

Perhaps they're active and the battery's gone dead? If they are SAs, I'll buy them from you if you don't want them.

I have 2 Strats with EMG pick-ups, and find they have very strong output. You may have an electronic problem, cuz EMG's are high quality pick-ups.

Strange. The EMG's should give some pretty high output. Do you know which model they are?

Also, does anyone have experience with the Gilmour EMG's? Just curious how they sound.

the are active an i replaced the battery. made no difference.

Right - SA is gold - did you find the problem. You might want to contact EMG - I've heard their support is excellent.
