I thought I've seen this question befor but I can't find it.

Have you taken off your sticker on the pickguard yet?(new strats)

I did it and it feelt so empty where it used to be. I've got a new strat now but don't know if I want to get rid of it. It's god looking (2008 model).

Anyone feeling the same way?

Feel wrong to keep it there though. A little bit "nerdy".

I took it off the day I got it - saw no point in having it there!

Yeah, I ripped that off before I took it home. Like walking around with the price tags still on your clothes or something.

Yes, this is a minor ailment called Mini Pearlitis. The cure is to plaster your strat with various colors of electricians tape.

If you're looking for decoration why not add your own sticker that, you know, is cool and not an ugly, nerdy peice of crap. 8)

Did you have the same level of separation anxiety over the orange dot which covers the tap hole for the trem handle??

If so, you might consider consulting Ceri's doctor? He can feel your pain,
with pleasure.

This reminds me of back in the day when gramma kept plastic covers on the couch so it would stay "nice"

Just don't leave it on too long so that once it's off you have a nice saturn-shaped mark, where the pickguard's darkened around it!

Man I hated grandma's plastic furniture covers. Talk about nasty on a hot summer's day....

I like to keep my amp in the plastic-wrapped cardboard box when I play it. I just can't bear the thought of throwing it away. Sure, it's a little muddy sounding, but you can EQ that! Just reach your hand inside and try finding the right knob. Hours of fun!
