So, I've been browsing forums looking for assistance on a monster wiring project I have in mind for a custom guitar I am making. I noticed Andybighair's eagerness for "interesting" projects, and so I was curious if I might find some assistance here. First off, let me give you some background. It's a rear route tele body, routed to have a tele pu (neck), a minibucker (middle) and a humbucker (bridge) and it has strat controls (5 pos switch + VTT) and a side mounted jack. The idea I have at the moment, may not need some steps, but, go big or go home, right? So first off, I want to coil tap both buckers. The mini would be pull pot T1 and full would be pull pot T2. I then (and this may be one of the unnecessary steps) would like to put a toggle next to each tone which would toggle which single coil is being used. Next stage in the idea is to have it all connected to an S1 wiring system on the Volume pot. I know it would be a maze of connections and wires, and I'm not well versed enough in electronics to begin to map it. I was hoping someone out there might be able to determine not only the feasibility of this, but have the fortitude to diagram it. My idea is to have a guitar with endless tonal capabilities, and any advice, ideas etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

I'm not sure this would work the way you want it to. The S1 switch connects the pickups in series, if you then use a mini toggle to switch one of the pickups off then you'll end up with absolutely no output at all from the series connected pickups.

Good luck with this.
For many years I worked as an Instrument Repair Tech for a major airlines, so I am used to working on small complicated electronics.

That being said, wiring my LP Custom for the Jimmy Page setup has been a total PITA.

I understand your goal, and it's an admirable goal at that.

I'm just saying.
Sometimes it's easier to just use a different sounding guitar.
