Will they sound similar to a humbucker? P90? mini humbucker?
Am I gonna be able to get a Brian May tone out of a strat with pickups wired in series (bridge-middle and middle-bridge)?
Clapton woman tone?
Is it worth it modding a strat this way?
This is really gonna help me decide whether I should buy a strat or not, as my next guitar purchase.
BTW I've never found any good video on youtube showing how a strat sounds with pickups in series.
I need all information I could get on wiring strat pickups in series (show me videos if you can  )
Thanks in advance :D

Why not just buy one of those Brian May Red Special guitars with the tri-sonic series pups? I think they are made by Burns and they run about the price of a Mexi-Strat.

They basically sound like "fat-quack". It'll be a little louder (and will likely overdrive a tube amp due to the increased gain) and have more midrange, but it doesn't really sound like a humbucker. Because of the separation of the coils, you don't get the focused attack of a true neck or bridge humbucker gives you. I find this especially true of the bridge and middle pickups in series. Having said that, I do find that that position to be more useful that the middle + neck in series.

I've found that it darkens the tone as well.

Quite right.
Output is hotter but darker.
Quack is reduced.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
